Shaping Your Career at National Institute of Epidemiology

ICMR (National Institute of Epidemiology) is conducting a recruitment drive for numerous positions. These positions include Senior Project Research Fellow, Project Technician (Field Worker), Project Technical Officer (Medical Social Worker), and Project Technician (Lab Technician). There are thirteen vacancies in total, out of which one vacancy is for the position of Senior Research Fellow, three in Project Technician (Field Worker) position, six in the Project Technical Officer (Medical Social Worker) position, and three in the Project Technician (Lab Assistant) position.

Educational Qualifications

Candidates wishing to apply for the position of Senior Project Research Fellow must possess a post-graduate degree in the area of basic science. Additionally, they must have two-year experience in research along with the NET qualification. All those who have done graduation in courses like BVSc, BSMS, BHMS, or BDA and have two years experience in research are also eligible to apply.

All those who have cleared twelfth standard in the field of science and have working experience of two years in areas of health research can apply for the position of Project Technician (Field Worker). Candidates applying for the position of Project Technical Officer (Medical Social Worker) must have completed their graduation in social work or social sciences with work experience of at least five years. All those who have master's degree in social work or social science are also eligible to apply.

The position of Project Technician (Lab Technician requires the clearance of standard twelfth in the science subjects along with a diploma in the area of medical lab technology. All those who have cleared class 12th in the science field and have one-year working experience in a laboratory can also apply for this position.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

All those who have experience in working in a team doing the research project, collecting and transporting biochemical samples, conducting personal interviews in health research projects, etc will be preferred for the position of Project Technician (Lab Technician). The desirable educational qualification for the Project Technical Officer (Medical Social Worker) position is the MSW awarded by a recognized institute or university.

For the position of Senior Project Research Fellow, preference will be given to those who have knowledge of data management or computer applications. The ones having experience in data collection, supervision etc in health-related field-based research will be preferred for this post. Additionally, they must be proficient in speaking the Tamil language.

Age Limit

There is no limitation on the maximum age for the applicants of the Senior Project Research Fellow position. Applicants of the UR category applying for the Project Technician (Field Worker) position must not be more than thirty years of age. The OBC candidates applying for this position can do so until thirty-three years of age.

Candidates applying for the Project Technical Officer (Medical Social Worker) position must not be more than thirty years of age.
