Guidelines to Fill UPSC Civil Services DAF Form
UPSC Civil Services Exam is considered as the toughest competitive exam in India. The exam is conducted for the selection into the elite government services like IAS (Indian Administrative Services), IPS (Indian Police Services), IFS (Indian Foreign Services), IRS (Indian Revenue Services) and various other Group 'A' and Group 'B' services.
UPSC has released the results of UPSC Civil Sevices Prelims 2017 on 27th July 2017 and around 12,000 candidates are selected to appear for UPSC Civil Services Mains 2017. Before appearing for the Civil Services Mains Exam, the selected candidates have to fill and submit the DAF (Detailed Application Form) before the last date otherwise their candidature may be canceled by the UPSC. The last date to submit the DAF is 31st August 2017. It is extremely crucial to fill the DAF carefully as it is an important document and it may have an impact on the career and postings of the candidate while in the services.

It is always good to read the notification details before filling the DAF. Carefully read the rules given in the DAF including the eligibility criteria.

The candidate can find the Online Detailed Application Form at the official website of the UPSC.

If the candidate has cleared the UPSC Civil Services Prelims 2017, the candidate has first to get registered on the official website of UPSC. A Login button is given on the site from where the registration will be done.

While registering on the site, the candidate has to fill the Name, Roll Number, Email ID and Date of Birth.

After a successful registration, the password will be generated through which the candidate will login to the DAF module on the site.

The candidate has to fill all the modules in the form and it is compulsory. UPSC DAF comprises of 6 modules, i.e., Personal, Educational, Parental and Employment Information. The candidate also has to upload the images required.

Candidates should save each module after completing it and can make the changes before the final submission.

The candidates are asked to upload the desired copies of the documents like Age Proof, Educational Qualification, PH Certificate, Community Certificate, etc. It is advised to keep the documents scanned copy ready while filling up the form.

It is highly recommendable to not to fill any wrong or misleading information in the DAF else the candidature of the candidate may get canceled by the UPSC.

Write the information to be filled in DAF on the rough sheet first and then fill it on DAF.

As the last date to submit DAF is 31st August 2017, the candidates are advised not to wait for the last date and fill the DAF in advance to avoid last time rush.
