BITS Admission 2017, NU Provides Admission Based On BITS Result
Are you aspiring to be a great engineer? Are you nervous to appear for the BITSAT 2017? A whirlwind of entrance exams feature after students have appeared for their board exams. Highly competitive and one of the most coveted entrance exams in this flurry of exams is the BITSAT 2017.
BITSAT comprises of an objective type test format. It is an online test of 3 hours with no specific time frame for any of the parts. The student can easily switch between the sections and change answers. It is based on the multiple choice structure wherein every question has only one correct answer. There are 150 questions and negative marking for wrong answers. The score of this test is immediately displayed after submission of the paper. The syllabus consists of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology which is based on the NCERT books of 11th and 12th grade. There will also be English proficiency and Logical reasoning which will be based on the general overview. In case a student finishes all the 150 questions, there will be an additional 12 questions for the student to score high. These questions also carry negative marks.
Admission to any of the three BITS campuses and engineering colleges accepting BITSAT scores is based on scores achieved in this entrance test. It also requires submission of an application to the respective colleges both online and a printed copy to the college address before a prescribed date. The application usually contains results of the recent board exams and the various preferences to various programmes in different colleges.
Once the lists of admitted students and wait-lists are released then payment of the admission fee and first semester is necessary to be kept on the waitlist, or else the candidate is ineligible for admission when further lists come out. This process usually happens in the month of July.
BITSAT being one of the most competitive and sought after exams has its advantages. Many other reputed engineering colleges accept its scores.
