Platform Storage Beds: Best of Both Worlds, Pleasant Features, & the Tao/Zen of Bedroom Organization
Where Did All My Stuff Go?
Ultimately, it all ends up in the lap of the Tao with a Zen sense of Nothingness or Every thingness or whatever. At any rate, getting to the point, have you ever found yourself on your hands and knees, crawling around on the floor, looking under your bed for that love letter from your first girlfriend or boyfriend or that sterling bracelet that your Aunt Martha gave you for your eighteen birthday? Have you ever wondered what happened to that pocket-knife your father gave when you were ten-years-old or the leather-bound diary that your mother gave you when were twelve-years-old? Did they fall into a black-hole? Are they hiding in that cluttered closet that you ignore every day because you’re too busy with other obligations? Maybe those valued belongings could fend for themselves if they were secured inside of a bed instead of under the bed. That way, all you have to do is squat or bend over, instead of crawling and groping in the dark. Hence, the emergence of the contemporary storage bed and its knack for safe-keeping.
Like many inventions, it’s hard to say who came up with the idea of a storage bed, but that person deserves a great deal of credit for being so organized and resourceful. Storage beds are akin to applying a somewhat Spartan approach to one’s belongings. According to Google (which is getting scarier every day), it’s suggested that one “Live like a Spartan. Spartans were notorious for living a simple, frugal, minimalist lifestyle. They ate only what they needed, kept their bodies fit, and didn’t spend money wastefully. A minimalist lifestyle is much more rewarding than the standard consumer lifestyle.” Whoever invented the storage bed must have been inspired by a Spartan.
In Case You Don’t Live Alone
Although storage beds are quite useful for anyone, they’re especially useful for children and adolescents, who naturally have a tendency to be messy and disorganized. Small children don’t know any better but teenagers can be downright rebellious when it comes to domestic chaos. By equipping your children with a storage bed, you can more easily redirect them without too much struggle. You can even trick them into being more orderly by referring to the drawers of a storage bed as hiding places. That way it’s more of game than a chore when they put things away each night.
Many modern platform storage-beds are constructed with eco-friendly materials, so if you’re looking to purchase one, then you might consider buying it from a local environmentally friendly company that’s serious about selling products that are manufactured with renewable, eco-friendly resources.
