F&L Designer Guides’ Proposal Tips For The Geeky Couple

Author: Lisa Jeeves

It is a recurring opinion among members of western society that, sooner or later, the so-called ‘geeks’ will rise to the forefront of the social ladder and irrevocably take over modern culture and society. That phenomenon has certainly been inching ever closer in recent years, as pop culture in particular has assimilated many of the tastes previously exclusive to this group and sought more and more to cater to them.

Here at F&L Designer Guides, we are no exception. Our collection of amazing designers caters to every taste including the so-called geeks. That is precisely why, in today’s article, we will be offering a list of suggestions for ‘geeky’ proposals, in order to ensure that our readers who identify themselves as members of that group have successful and memorable question-popping moments.

Themed Proposals

Geeky couples are all about themes and often share an appreciation for the same pop culture icons, films, or book series. Finding a theme that both members of the couple share and basing the entire proposal around it can go a long way towards hearing the ever-important ‘yes’. For instance, here at F&L Designer Guides, we have heard of Star Trek-themed engagement ceremonies, or others centred on Pokemon. Certain locations also encourage these themes so if you and your partner are both Harry Potter fans, why not propose to them at the Harry Potter Studio Tour, for example?

Propose in Costume

This ties in to the previous topic, but is still worth mentioning. Even if you do not have the means of embracing your desired theme with all guns blazing, you can still invest in a pair of costumes and have a role-play proposal. F&L Designer Guides has heard tell of, for instance, ceremonies undergone with both members of the couple dressed as Storm Troopers or Starfleet officers.

Invest in a Themed Ring

Once again, themes, themes, themes! If you cannot express your geeky love through setting or costumes, you can always do so through one of a number of increasingly available ‘geek’ jewellery items, shaped to replicate a spaceship from Space Invaders, a Pokemon, or even Hello Kitty. These are usually inexpensive and fairly common (you may even find some in the list of F&L Designer Guides associates), and will, at worst, get a giggle out of your partner.

If, then, you and your special one are seeking to have an enjoyable and successful proposal ceremony while still embracing your ‘nerdiness’, make sure you follow some of the suggestions above.
