Foods that fights against stress

Any person can get affected by stress at anytime during work or while staying at home. By doing regular exercise, one can get rid of stress. The immune system of the body becomes weak due to stress and the body also becomes depleted of the essential nutrients. There are some foods that help the body to relax and fight stress. Thus by having the best stress reducing foods you can easily get rid of stress.
- Rice, cereals and breads - Foods that are rich in carbohydrate should be taken as they will help you to relax and thus will reduce the stress that you are suffering from. A chemical known as serotonin is produced in the body by the brain during digestion of the carbohydrates. This chemical is responsible for causing calmness and relaxation. You should avoid simple carbohydrates as they contain no nutritional value and you will also gain extra calories by having simple carbohydrates. Hence complex carbohydrates should be taken as they are slowly digested and they also help to keep the blood sugar level stable. Thus foods containing complex carbohydrates such as rice, cereals, and breads should be taken daily in order to reduce and get rid of stress.
- Eggs, fish and meats - Stress can be reduced by having foods rich in protein. During the process of digestion, the protein is broken down to amino acid and there is a particular amino acid that increases the production of two chemicals, epinephrine and dopamine in the body. These two chemicals supply energy to the body and thus help to reduce stress. Food such as eggs, fish and meat are rich in protein. Eggs are also capable of maintain normal blood sugar level and thus should be consumed in moderate quantity. Some fishes like tuna which contain protein during digestion releases a particular amino acid which helps the brain to fight against stress and thus reduce it.
- Oranges and blueberries - Vitamin C is present in some fruits like oranges and blueberries. Vitamin C is very effective in decreasing the stress hormone levels by making the immune system strong. Blueberries are rich in vitamin C as well as antioxidants. Thus vitamin C and antioxidants together help in reducing stress. When a person suffers from stress, the vitamin C level becomes low as a result the serotonin level also becomes low. Thus having blueberries during stress will help you to get back sufficient amount of vitamin C which will produce serotonin that will help to fight stress by making you calm and relaxed.
- Green leafy vegetables - Magnesium is such a mineral which reduces the stress by changing the way your body responds to stress. During stress, the magnesium level becomes low and thus by having foods rich in magnesium such as spinach, beans and broccoli will help the body to get the necessary amount of magnesium which will help you to fight stress. Thus one should have green leafy vegetables that are rich in magnesium in order to get rid of stress by relaxing the body and making the mind calm.
- Avocados - Potassium that is present in avocados reduces blood pressure level. When a person becomes stressed, then the heart rate increases and the blood pressure level also become high. Thus a stressful person should have avocados as it will help to keep your body balanced by reducing the blood pressure and thus reducing stress.
