Pregnancy and the post natal period is when women need maximum care, help and pampering. This is because she is not a single entity anymore. Any and every requirement of the baby comes from the mother. While the baby grows inside the mother’s womb one of its vital requirements is Calcium. Since the baby’s bones are still under formation a lot of calcium is absorbed by the baby. At this juncture if the mother is unable to get the amount of calcium required for the baby the baby starts using up the mothers calcium present in her bones and this causes calcium deficiency in the mother.
Calcium deficiency is a far serious problem that what you think it is. This is not some temporary deficiency that happens during pregnancy and can be fixed after the delivery.
