Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main - To Take Your Career in Next Level
JEE Main is conducted to provide admissions to the interested and eligible candidates who want to secure their admission in various UG programs. This exam is organized by the Central Board of secondary Education for offering admissions in NITS, IIIT and other CFTI across India. However, the CBSE has released the information brochure for JEE Main. The application process has been closed on 2 January, 2018. The entrance exam is an offline exam and will be held on 8 April, 2018. And the online entrance exam will be held on 15 & 16 April, 2018. It is necessary for the candidates to keep themselves updated with the latest news.
The candidates who will be able to qualify this entrance exam will be able to take admission in NITS (National institute of technologies), IIITs (Indian Institutes of Information Technologies) and CFTIs (centrally funded technical institution).
The JEE Main entrance exam is an eligibility test which is conducted to evaluate the skills of the applicants who else wants to pursue further for BE/BTech. The candidates who will successfully qualify the exam will be able to appear for JEE advanced exam which is the next level exam to secure their admissions. The eligibility required to apply for the exam is that the candidate must have passed their class 12 or any equivalent exam in 2016 and 2017 with almost five subjects from any recognized board. The students must have scored 75% marks (65% for SC/ST) average to secure their admissions in IITs, NITs and CFTIs. Candidates must have read physics and mathematics as their main subjects along with one of these subjects as their technical subjects such as Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology. The Candidates must have born on or after 1st October 1993 and 5 year relaxation is provided for the reserved categories.
The applicants can only appear 3 times for JEE Main Entrance Exam. And it is necessary to carry their Aadhar card along with them while the candidates go to appear for the entrance exam. The Aadhar card is mandatory to verify the real identity of the willing or appearing candidate.
The candidates must know that the exam will include two papers- Paper 1 will be conducted for various engineering courses such as B.E. / B. Tech and the paper 2 will be held for various Architecture courses such as B. Arch / B. Planning. The eligible candidates can apply JEE MAIN paper 1 and paper 2 both or else they can pursue for only paper 1 or paper 2 only as per their desired program. As, it is stated that the paper 1 will be a multiple-choice question which will contain 90 questions from 3 subject’s chemistry, physics and mathematics. And, similarly paper 2 which will include 82 multiple choice questions from mathematics, aptitude test and drawing test. And, each and every section contains different amount of questions for the entrance exam.
Here are mentioned some of the latest notifications which are done in the exam pattern:
- Last year, the JEE Main entrance exam was organized in many language such as English, Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi and Urdu language but from this year onwards the exam will be held in English, Hindi and Gujarati languages only.
- There is also an increased 4000 in the number of qualified candidates which is now from 2, 20,000 to 2, 24,000.
- The applicant has to upload their Scanned copy of their signature of his/her Father/Mother/Guardian in the application form.
- There is an upgrade in the number of exam center located in different cities i.e. from 113 last year to 258 now, including 10 from abroad.
- There is also an increase of 3 centrally funded technical institutions (CFTIs) for candidates from 20 to 23.
