The Ultimate Vacation, Global Village!

Have you heard of Global Village? It is located in Dubai, the emerging visitor destination of the world. Dubai is located in United Arab Emirates. Dubai has grown tremendously in the last fifteen years. It was already a major business hub, and has recently transformed into a major tourism area. The Palm Jumeirah, World Islands, beautiful hotel resorts and Global Village are wonderful experiences.

Global Village was created to somewhat mimic EPCOT of Disney World. Why have to travel all over the world to experience difference cultures, foods, shopping, and sights? You can go to one place and see it all. It was started in 1996 along the Dubai Creek in small kiosks. Each one representing some different countries. Each year as attendance grew, so did the countries. Starting out with about fifteen countries's and growing to forty five+. It is now a major tourist area. It is hosted every year, with the season running from November to April. This is because it is extremely hot throughout the rest of the year.

For the kids, or " the kid in all of us", there is "The Carnaval". The Carnaval features rides found at every major amusement park, for the big kids and the littlest of kids. There are also clowns, arcades, and even skil games, complete with prizes.

The entertainment at Global Village consists of stunt shows, complete with dirt bikes, quads, fights, and monster trucks, for the thrill seekers. There are also stage shows, cultural shos and kids show, along with street performers. The Parade of the World is held every Thursday night at 7:30 pm, and fireworks are every Thursday and Fridays at 9:00 pm, so make sure to attend on these days. Every Friday there is a live concert at 9:00 pm. There is never a dull moment at Global Village.

For your dining pleasures, there are 19 restaurants serving Pakistani, Egyptian, Syrian, Thai, Indian, Bosnian, Arabic, Chinese, Turkish, Yemini, Mexican, and American fast foods. The cafes offer savory Emirati, and Arabic coffees. There are also about 120 kiosks serving delicacies, including steak, chicken, shrimp, falafel, pastries, drinks, and more from all of the represented countries. No matter what you crave, you will find it. You are sure to leave with a very full belly.

No vacation is complete without shopping. There are 27 unique pavilions representing certain countries. These are set up to make it look and feel, as if you are in that host countries. There are street markets complete with real street vendors from that country. There are also retail shops located throughout that come from the individual country that you would expect to see there.
