2018 T-Roc Added to the Lineup At VW Car Dealers

Author: Mandurah Volkswagen

When they visit their local VW dealers, Perth WA drivers may be excited to see the new 2018 T-Roc. This is the first compact SUV in the VW lineup to offer class leading space and technology. Since its official reveal, the T-Roc has been established in the lineup alongside the larger Touareg, Tiguan SUVs. The T-Roc will serve as a crossover companion for the Polo hatch, in a similar way to the Tiguan and the Golf. However, the T-Roc is the first foray for Volkswagen into the compact SUV segment.

What to Expect?

VW car dealers don’t have the official details for the T-Roc’s exterior dimensions yet. However, the model is already being marketed as a practical option within this class. There is a 445 litre luggage area when the rear seats are in place, but this can be expanded to a cavernous 1290 litres when the second row of seats is folded. This compares very favourably with the segment leader the Honda HR-V, which offers 437/ 1462 litre capacity.

The Aesthetics:

The exterior design of the T-Roc is close to the uncamouflaged prototype that was shown earlier this year. It sports a wide, low aesthetic with headlights extending from the front grille. The LED daytime running lights form a ring where the fog lights would be. The tailgate slopes to a roofline that is almost coupe-like. The roof is available in contrasting colours, that is a first for the SUV range at VW dealers. Perth WA drivers will also notice a character line that sharply runs through the side doors to connect the flared wheel arches. The wide stance of the T-Roc is accentuated by the LED taillights that wrap around to the rear panels, while the contrasting wheel arch cladding and bumpers create a more capable look.

Inside the Cabin:

When you step inside the cabin of this crossover, you will see the similarity between the T-Roc and its stablemates, particularly the new Polo. You can opt for the 12.3 inch Active Info display, and there is a central infotainment system. The design also features bright interior trim that perfectly complements the exterior paint. There is also a range of active safety and driver assistance systems including autonomous emergency brakes and pedestrian detection.

While the T-Roc is set to be launched in November for the European market, there is no firm date of when we can expect to see it in VW car dealers here. VW Australia has suggested a debut in 2019, but it is possible that it will land in 2018. However, it looks like it will be worth the wait.
