Major failures of Google – Top 4

In the advancement of technology, the people are being connected with the social media like Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram and others. Like this social media platform, Google also launched some products, assumed these products would bring the market in the global. But the products of Google flopped in the market. It cannot able to establish its own product in the market and henceforth it falls down. In this article, we will share about the major failure of Google. There are some products, which simply failed and the customer feedback of these products are also negative. You will get a short note about Google flopped products such as Google Wave, Google Buzz, Google Glass, Google answers.

Google Wave

Millions of people use everyday Google Wave doesn’t announce the end of something that e-mail just because you need to generate buzz. This will just set the expectations of everyone so high that you will never be able to deliver what people perceive your product to be. Get regular users on board when you are developing and make their opinion count. No point in wanting to develop a product aimed to the masses if the masses don't understand and can't operate with it. Be pro-active when it comes to user feedback on all levels - every user that takes the time to report a bug, setup a wave help desk or a FAQ should be supported and not abandoned to the wolves.

Google Buzz

The UI display should also adapt to this 'simple' mode - and I bet it would be a lot more popular. While we're at it - Buzz (and Google) should promote ThreadsML (or something like it) to facilitate inter-change between conversations. In the other sense the Google hasn’t fail because google gets exactly what they want. Do not be fooled by something that appears social is actually a data collection exercise and a trend in behavior. Users doing their major beta testing of the product and all depend on the users. And after the testing the product rolling is out a slightly better product.

Google Glass

Google glass failed because consumers were not willing to pay a huge price tag for a single product. Google pushed so much technology into its product that it had to price it that high. The Google Glass also did not have apps that were adding considerable value to the user. When Apple got the iPhone, it wouldn’t have worked if not for the app store. Apps changed the game for the iPhone.

Google Answers

Google had a model which impacted the service scalability: paying for answers.

User had to pay an amount (starting at $2.50 and up) this amount will pay if the answer was satisfying to you (the answers were given by experts selected by Google).

In the end, I think they couldn't scale it fast enough and Yahoo Answers (which was and still is free for all) took off massively (users chose the free vs. paid). It is very expensive not all peoples can afford it.

There are many other failures of Google also, but there are many products and services which are extremely successful. In New Zealand, Google is providing customer service support to their customers. One can easily contact their officials at Google New Zealand email address or can also visit Google New Zealand head office.
