4 DIY Hairstyles that take Unwashed Hair to the Next Level
Every morning comes with its own expectation of a routine. There is a long list of things that need to be taken care of. These not only include the responsibilities towards everyone around you but also yourself. So what do you do if you want to get that extra 20 mins of sleep? Where do you compromise? The one sector that can be easily taken care of without much hassle could be your hairstyle. It isn’t always necessary to go through the long routine of washing, drying and styling your hair. Here are some amazing hairstyles that you can try on unwashed hair with oily and greasy roots.
- The Power of a Silk Scarf
There is a nostalgic connection between a decent scarf tied beautifully along your hair and old Bollywood of Hollywood movies. For tying a scarf, follow the following steps:
Choose the scarf that will match your outfit with the style you are planning to go with.
Depending on what the attire is, the style of your scarf will vary. Here are a few styles that you can opt for:
- The Banded Scarf

Run an elastic band through the scarf and bring it right n the middle. Once that is done, spread the ends of the scarf and align the rubber band with your hairline and place the scarf. Tie off the scarf at the back of your head. Bring one end of the scarf in front of your shoulders to add to the glam.

Tie a side messy side braid. Fold the scarf multiple times along its length to make it thin enough. After that, tie the scarf at the base of the braid to complete the look.
2. The half ups
The great deal about the half up bun (aka the hun) is that it suits any hair type of occasion. We have some awesome celebrities who have proved that for us.
The half ups can be tried for both the long and the short hair.
Here’s how:
- For long hair

Separate the top and the bottom of your hair and tie the top with a hair tie. Make sure that this ponytail is tight. Gently tease the ponytail near the base of the hair tie to make it voluminous. And twist that around the base. Finally, secure the bun you have crafted and make minor adjustments to make it look great.
- For short hair

Separate your hair in line with the top of your ears. Make a high ponytail with the hair at the top like a crown. After you secure your hair with an elastic band, pin small sections of the ponytail around the hair tie to cover it, creating your baby bun.
3. Hello ‘Halo Braid’

Now part your hair into 2 equal sections from the front all the way to the back of your head.
Take a small amount of hair from one of your 2 sections and start braiding it from the beginning from the nape of your neck.
Continue your braid around your head, following your hairline, until you reach back at your starting point.
When you reach the nape of your neck, finish your Dutch braid with a standard plait and secure with a hairband. You can get a look that will stay longer if you manage to seal it with a hairspray.
4. Hats to the rescue
