The Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (TIET) is situated in Patiala and has been one of the finest colleges from 1956, with a campus area of 250 Acres. TIET has been accredited with ‘A’ Grade by NAAC.

The main aim of the Institute is to provide the best learning environment for its students and faculty members, which could lead them to excel in the stream of technology and management.

The University provides all the relevant facilities to its students, like good infrastructure, computer labs, science labs, hostel, canteen, among others. There are 6 Academic Schools, 9 Departments, and 8 Centres. The names are enlisted below:

There is a wide range of Thapar University Courses by the Departments which provide Undergraduate, Post Graduate, and Doctoral Programmes in the engineering and technical disciplines. On the other hand, the Schools offer Post Graduate and Doctoral Programmes only. There is a different eligibility criterion and fee structure for different courses offered at the Institute.

Thapar University Registration

The registration for Thapar University is done through 2 simple processes:

  • *Log-on to the official website, i.e., www.thapar.edu
  • *Click on "Admissions 2018".
  • 8Fill in the details of Name, Mobile Number, Email id, Programme in which you wish to apply and then select "Submit".
  • *Check your email for the login credentials and click on the link which will directly lead you to the Application Form’s Page.
  • *Fill in the required details and recheck once done.
  • *Make the Application Fee Payment through either Payment Gateway or Demand Draft.

Thapar University Admission 2018

The Thapar University Admissions will begin soon. The candidates have to keep 2 printouts of the fully filled application form with themselves, as it is required at the time of document checking during counseling process.

Also, if the application fee is paid through Demand Draft, then the candidates have to send the Application form along with the DD to "In-Charge Admission Cell" of TIET.

Thapar University Placement

The Centre for Industrial Liaison and Placement (CILP) is the host which arranges placement interviews for the students in the final year of any programme. The industries from the public as well as private sector visit to recruit students.

The students in their 2nd Year have to complete their 6 week’s summer training for which CILP arranges placement opportunities.

Many companies are invited for on-campus placements and 590 students were placed till 15-4-2018.
