There are a whole lot of options for them, which confuses the students more. Developing countries like India have a pool of unemployed educated youth that look for job. Lack of good employment opportunities and increasing number of unemployed youth make this choice more difficult and rather confusing. But, between the two options, the government jobs always have the upper hand. This is due to several reasons and benefits that the government jobs have and offer to the employees. So, let us look at the reasons for which you should choose government jobs.

The Reasons For Choosing Government Jobs

  • Pay – most of the worker’s job choices are based on the pay that is offered to them. Even, most of the economists believe that money is the most important factor while deciding a job between private sector and government sector. The sixth pay commission has put the salaries and pay packages of government employees at par with the private and corporate sector employees. Besides the pay, there are several perks too in the government jobs.

  • Job security- most of the private sector jobs are prone to layoffs and even to the economic slowdown or depression. This is not the case with the government sector jobs as they are more stable than the jobs in the private sectors. The dismissals are more difficult in the government sector due to the civil service protections. Layoffs are uncommon as the government agencies downsize less often as in the private sectors. For the employees seeking job security, government jobs are a much better option.

  • Work stress – this is most true that the work stress in government jobs is far less than in the private sector jobs. Not only the work pressure, the pressure of loosing the job is also less, which make it more attractive for the employees.

Looking at the above-mentioned benefits of the government jobs, you must have got the reasons to look one for yourself. These reasons will also help you in simplifying the choice.
