About Padma Vibhushan Awards

Padma Vibhushan Awards is second highest civilian Award after Bharat Ratna ( Bharat Ratna is the highest civilian award in india. ) And highest in all Padma Awards, announced annually on the eve of Republic Day. The Padma Awards are given in three categories: Padma Vibhushan (for exceptional and distinguished service), Padma Bhushan (distinguished service of higher order) and Padma Shri (distinguished service).

Now, Today we are discussing about Padma Vibhushan awards and Award Winners.. The Padma Awards are conferred on the recommendations made by the Padma Awards Committee, which is constituted by the Prime Minister every year. The nomination process is open to the public. Even self-nomination can be made.

Padma Awards, which were instituted in the year 1954, is announced every year. But Some interruption(s) during the years 1978 and 1979 and 1993 to 1997.
