zest of 1 medium lemon

3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

1 teaspoon mustard

4 large cloves garlic, minced

3/4 cup heavy whipping cream

1/2 cup chicken broth

black pepper, to taste

optional garnish, 3 tablespoons minced parsley

optional: serve with cooked noodles, rice, pasta, steamed veggies or side of bread.

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400° F.

Rinse the chicken breasts thoroughly and pat dry, cut them lengthwise if the chicken is too thick. With lemon pepper seasoning Season all sides of chicken. (optional) Season with ground cumin and paprika.

Over medium-high heat, heat a large oven-proof skillet. Add butter and melt. Add the chicken and sear about 2-3 minutes both sides until lightly browned, on each side.

Remove it from the skillet after the chicken is browned. Reduce the heat to medium, and melt the 2 tbsps of butter and stir in garlic. Cook the garlic until fragrant. Add chicken broth, lemon juice, Worcestershire, heavy whipping cream, lemon zest, and mustard. Season with additional pepper and salt to taste. Whisk the sauce until completely combined. To the skillet Return the chicken breasts.

In the oven place the skillet and bake the chicken until the chicken is cooked through for about 20-30 minutes.

Garnish with optional parsley after the chicken is cooked through. Serve the chicken with lemon sauce over pasta, rice or noodles.
