Tenerife is visited by millions of tourists every year and for some very good reasons. It is the largest of the seven Canary Islands with gorgeous white-sand beaches, elegant clubs, and stylish resorts. As you move beyond the popular tourist spots, some beautiful natural surroundings would be awaiting you in its tropical forest and mountain areas. Among the Canary Islands, Tenerife is the centre of economic activities and is served by the Tenerife-North and Tenerife-South airports. During your holiday spent on this gorgeous Spanish island, you'll also get the chance to explore its UNESCO World Heritage Sites and other fabulous attractions.

Your cheap Tenerife holidays won't be considered complete without a visit to Teide National Park, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is situated on the highest peak in Spain, Mount Teide. This national park also has a 10-mile-wide volcanic crater and some interesting varieties of flora and fauna. While visiting this park, you'll come across several vantage points that offer panoramic views of the surroundings. Teide National Park is spread across a vast area of over 189 square kilometres and is often used as a reference for studies related to Mars owing to its similarities with the geological and environmental conditions of the red planet.

La Laguna is a beautiful city you can visit during your Tenerife holidays. It was once the capital of this island but is now a university city with its historic centre declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A day trip taken from Santa Cruz or the city of Puerto de la Cruz would take you to this majestic town and give you the opportunity to explore its marvellous religious buildings, such as the Catedral de Nuestra Senora de los Remedios, Iglesia de Santo Domingo, and Iglesia de Nuestra Senora de la Concepcion. All the historic structures from the 16th and 17th centuries have been brilliantly preserved in this city.

One of the day trips provided by the local tour operators during your cheap holidays to Tenerife would also take you to Garachico, which was once the wealthiest town on the island. A major volcanic eruption that occurred in the early 18th century destroyed most of its former glory. Today it is visited by many of the tourists mainly to enjoy a swim in its natural rock pools. Garachico is quite a serene and tranquil town, located in a valley surrounded by forest slopes on one side and a rocky coastline on the other.
