Koh Samui delights all the holidaymakers, be it backpackers or the wealthiest tourists. This beautiful island is a part of the Surat Thani Province in Thailand and has enchanting sandy beaches, lush green palms, and coral reefs. Over 2 million tourists visit this part of Thailand every year. This has resulted in the expansion of tourist facilities on the island in recent times and the addition of resorts and private villas. While exploring this island destination, you'll get the opportunity to witness some of its fascinating attractions and relish its delicious local dishes.

During your cheap Koh Samui holidays, you can visit many of the island's majestic temples. One of them is the Wat Plai Laem, which is a charming temple located on the north-eastern coast near the Big Buddha Temple or Wat Phra Yai. It has been built in recent times by incorporating several elements of Chinese and Thai traditions. Another astonishing feature of this temple is that it is dedicated to 'Guanyin', the goddess of mercy and compassion, unlike the other temples that are dedicated to Buddha. You can witness the magnificent statue of the goddess which has been built on an elevated platform surrounded by the lake of the temple.

Your Koh Samui holidays would also give you the chance to explore Na Muang Waterfalls, which is located about 12 kilometres to the south-east of Nathon Bay. The first of these two waterfalls cascades down to form a natural pool that gives visitors the chance to enjoy a cool swim. You'll come across the second waterfall when you proceed further uphill on foot for about half an hour. It is smaller than the first but is equally attractive. Owing to their fascinating features, the Na Muang waterfalls have become extremely popular among families that arrive here to swim and relax in the pools.

Chaweng Beach is yet another gorgeous attraction worth visiting with your cheap holidays to Koh Samui. It is one of the most popular beaches on this Thai island and is divided into North Chaweng, South Chaweng, Chaweng Noi or Little Chaweng, and Central Chaweng. You'll have a wonderful time while on the Chaweng Beach, as it is lined with swaying coconut palms. The central portion has more crowds than the south portion, as many of the younger travellers arrive in this area for partying. If you wish to avoid the crowds and enjoy some relaxed moments, head to the southern portion of the beach.

The Secret Buddha Garden, also known as the magic garden is quite a unique attraction in Koh Samui. It located on top of the Khun Nim Peak or Pom Mountain, which is one of the island's highest peaks. A retired farmer named Khun Nim Thongsuk had begun constructing this private sculpture park in the year 1976. He was 77 years of age when he started the construction and continued with his endeavour until his death at the age of 91. You'll witness several statues of Buddha in this park along with that of birds, snakes, the parents of the founder, and a few other sculptures.
