An Easy Way to Convert MBOX to PST

MS Outlook is the most preferred email application among all the available applications. Steps to Convert MBOX to PST

Before starting the conversion process, backup MBOX file and PST file to restore data in case any error occur during migration.

Save MBOX Files as EML

Open the application that uses MBOX file storage system

Go to the email folder and right click on it to create a new folder. Assign any name to it e.g. XYZ

Now open the folder from where you want to move email messages

Select the contents in the folder and right click on it

Select the option Move to>> Account name>>Folder>>XYZ

Open the XYZ folder and select all the items

Right click on it and save in EML format

Move the EML Files to Outlook

Now Open the MS Outlook application and go to the folder where EML files are stored. Simply move these EML files via drag and drop operation in MS Outlook

Export EML to PST

Open Outlook>> File>>Open & Export and then click on Import/ Export

In the new window open select 'Export to a File' and then 'Outlook Data File'

Select the folder (XYZ) where EML files are stored and choose 'Do not export duplicate items'

Finally, click on Finish

Direct conversion of MBOX to PST is not possible, the files first need to be converted in EML and then PST. In this way, the MBOX files will be moved to Outlook PST safely and securely.

Note: Users should take extra care while performing the actions during MBOX to PST conversion as a single mistake might affect both the Outlook application and MBOX based email application.
