Match details
Sydney Sixers women vs Perth Scorchers women, 5th match, Fantasy Cricket League preview.
Seventh December 2018, 1:40 pm ist
North Sydney Oval, Sydney
Venue
The North Sydney oval stadium in Sydney has hosted just one t20i which was in September earlier this year. Australia women faced their New Zealand counterparts in the first game of a three-match t20i series. Australia chased down 163 with ease in that game (with over 2 overs to spare).
The pitch should more or less play the same way it did in that t20i. The forecast is cloudy but the rain should stay away.
Preview
The two teams have had contrasting starts to their 2018 bbl campaign. While Sydney Sixers are coming off a heavy defeat against Melbourne Stars, Perth Scorchers won in the final over against Hobart Hurricanes.
The defending champions Sydney Sixers were excellent at the start with the bat but they squandered the good start as apart from the openers no batter went past the 20-run mark. They managed to score just 57 runs in their 8 overs.
Then again, Perth chased down 147 with three balls to spare. Three out of the top four batters were dismissed for single-digit scores. However, that might not be a cause of concern as they've played just one game in the tournament. The bowlers pulled things back nicely after Hobart had gotten off to a flyer.
In this manner, it promises to be a good contest as the last year finalists square off for the first time this season.
