"Freedom of speech is one thing, but when it is damaging to society something can and should be done."

George Washington famous quotes on freedom of speech state that if freedom of speech gets taken away; there is the possibility of being led in a dumb and in a silent way, just like sheep into the slaughter house. The recognition of human rights leads to the spell out of freedom of speech right, with an aim of protecting the fundamental freedoms of human beings. There many who have learned from using the words to harm others the words have become a norm in those in the society that want to misuse the very words that got formulated to protect them. The world's freedom of speech has evolved over the years. Freedom of speech expression in the U.S 1st and the 4th amendment as a right to express facts and opinions on a subject matter only to reasonable limitation The government uses this right to protect itself from clear and present danger from the society (Van Mill, 2002).

The most precious possession as the human being that we have been the freedom to express ourselves on matters of interest to us, for many centuries, people have fought and even died for freedom, and this is still continuing today in the today’s society. George Orwell made a strong argument about freedom of speech where he talked about denial of freedom of speech resulting from no thinking in the society. Further, he talked about a lack of freedom of resulting into stagnation that destroys the human mind, creativity, potential and retards the development of the meaningful relationship between the man with himself as well as with others. However, there are strong reasons behind the need to control and regulate freedom of speech as it is destroying the society (Van Mill, 2002).

The most significant concerns are the use of freedom of speech to harm others. In the society today people are using political arenas or just the society to hurt insidiously others using freedom of speech? It is better to have a freedom that stem from a full, creative life that satisfies for ourselves and can lead to the betterment and society growth.

What distinguishes man from the lower life forms is the ability to think and to speak. Thus, I believe the denial of the basic freedoms is the denial of the humanity of man. The reason is as long as the repressive imposition of conditions takes place; there is a likelihood that thought process functionality hindrance (Van Mill, 2002).

If the society, for instance, muzzles the press and the freedom of opinion may get equated with one that forbids thinking and in so doing pave the way for the society’s stagnation. There is more to life than just physical possessions of luxury items of non-essential comforts of life. It is freedom of speech that is fundamental to the very freedom of human beings and the functioning of democracy (Van Mill, 2002).

Freedom of speech is at times a source of evil through the teeth of people that speak about their teaching and spread hate words using sensitive words. There those that abuse the freedom and use the freedom to spread propaganda and turn other people images bad by disrespecting combined with slander, It get to a point where we feel there should be more limits to this freedom, and yet it is the same freedom that is core to humanity. So what can get done to have both freedoms of speech and a sound, stable society when so many are using new social media platforms to abuse the freedom (Alexander & Horton, 2003)?

These are facts about freedom of speech, living without freedom is living without fetters, and personality losing should not take place in an attempt by some characteristic to force one to get subservient to a system or a person. When not misused is a boon. It is up to the society to use freedom much more responsibly as with freedom comes with responsibility. Responsibility for reporting, in so speaking, in blogging and thoughts expression as the betterment of the society depends on the exercise of freedom in the right way. So is all about freedom with responsibility (Van Mill, 2002).
