This award-winning monument is a true landmark of Ottawa and an impressive architectural wonder featuring glass and granite. The gallery displays world-class Canadian artworks as well as international art pieces and temporary exhibitions. One of the most captivating artworks displayed at the National Gallery of Canada is Maman, which is set outside – a giant bronze sculpture of a spider, sculpted by French-American artist Louise Bourgeois.

Notre Dame Basilica - Sussex Drive

The historic Notre Dame Basilica dates back to the 18th century, and is the oldest and largest church in Ottawa. This landmark is recognisable in the city’s skyline with its impressive bell towers and twin spires, and has an intricately decorated interior with ornate carvings, statues of religious figures, stained glass windows which depict scenes from the bible and stunning blue ceilings with golden stars.

The National War Memorial - Wellington Street

This significant monument commemorates individuals from the Canadian Armed Forces who fought in World War I. The granite structure comprises of bronze figures that represent and symbolise peace, and in front of the memorial is the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, which contains the remains of an unidentified Canadian soldier. The national Remembrance Day ceremony is held here every year.
