1. They are creative peopleYes, you got it right! They are people who utilize more of their right brain, which is the creative aspect of it. They are people who will think out of the box on getting their creative juice to creative beautiful melodious tunes to fit whichever project they are working on.
This isn’t an easy feat as it takes time and patience, and a little on luck. Why is that so? Because sometimes, creative juice does not come immediately, and the luck comes in when an inspiration suddenly comes into play.
2. They work long hoursBeing creative has a price to pay. Ideas for composition often does not come immediately. This is when the time factor comes into play. It takes time to brainstorm the initial drafts of a music composition, to the final arrangement and production.

3. It takes years to nurture a musicianFor those who think that being a composer is all about talent, you are totally wrong. Every successful composer and musician will say that for every accomplishment that one receives, it is based on 1% talent, and 99% hard work.
True to this fact, composers usually start out as musicians, learning music instruments from a young age (as young as 4 years old), and with decades of music practice before they can see actual results, bearing the fruits of their labor.
4. They are often freelancersIn this day and age, not many companies or music studios are willing to invest in having an in-house composer to composer for their projects. This is partly due to cost, and also a main factor is not be limited to the same style of music.
Just like every job and every worker, every composer has his unique style of composing music. If a company were to invest in one composer, they will be limited to the same style of music composition for all their projects, which may not be totally ideal. Of course, unless they are more focused on cost savings.
5. They are differentLook around you. Whenever you see someone who is a musician, a composer, or someone from the arts, they tend to behave very differently from the normal people you hang out with.
Their dress sense will tell you clearly. They tend to be more creative (definitely) in their dress sense as compared to someone who works in the corporate field. They also hate to be normal!
