The captivating museum is set in a small old mansion and displays thousands of art pieces and artefacts, including ancient weaponry, rare paintings, clothes which have been worn by Mughal emperors, jewellery and original manuscripts of the Quran. This museum is visited by appointment only, so you’ll need to book your slot in advance.

Chughtai Museum

This fascinating museum is dedicated to Abdur Rahman Chughtai, one of greatest and most famous painters in Pakistan who developed a distinct form of painting style that was influenced by both Mughal-era and Islamic art. This is the location where Chughtai was awarded with his qualifications in Islamic Art, and now displays a large number of pencil sketches, watercolour paintings, postage stamps and Pakistani coins that were designed by him.

Alama Iqbal Museum

Alama Iqbal Museum is the former residence of renowned Pakistani poet and philosopher Muhammad Iqbal, and has been converted into a museum, introducing you to his life and his work. The museum is set in a pristine white colonial-era building, which was completed in 1935. Items displayed at Alama Iqbal Museum include preserved belongings of the famed poet such as clothes, furniture, handwritten documents, photographs, letters, certificates and awards, and there’s also a library and art galleries throughout.
