Best Biology Resources For Teachers

Author: Teacherr Blog

Science teachers, let’s get real for a minute: biology is an extensive subject. Covering all the living organisms that exist is in no way easy and probably involved hundreds of biology resources! Us at Teacherr recognise that. We 100% appreciate the effort you put in to simplify the subject for your students.

We, however, wish to take that appreciation to the next level. What if we not just thanked you, but simplified your teaching? Hence, we’ve compiled the five best bio resources available for FREE on the Internet (in no particular order of course). Enjoy!

Khan AcademyWhat makes Khan Academy‘s bio resources so awesome is how every lesson is explained through videos. Are you a kind of lazy person who learns best visually? Khan Academy is exactly the place you want to look for resources in!Examples of topics covered: ecology, plant biology, human biology, biochemistry

BioNinjaBased out of Australia, BioNinja is one of our personal favourites. It covers all the most important concepts of studying biology in higher grades. It’s still developing, so that means that it’s updated very often. That ensures that you always get the latest ways of presenting and learning biology.

Additionally, it explains the concepts in the simplest way possible. It incorporates all types of media – words, images, videos and graphs. This allows you to understand (thereby teach) a concept holistically.Examples of topics covered: cytology, genetics, evolution and so much more!

Target Board of Education: IB (Standard and Higher Levels); but the basics included come under most boards of education

Appropriate level: Grades XI and XII
