Important Aspects of UPSEE Exam

Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Uttar Pradesh which is widely referred to as AKTU conducts Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination for admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate programs offered at the institutes affiliated to the university. Candidates seeking admission to first year engineering programs offered by any of the institutes affiliated to AKTU must qualify UPSEE with a valid score. The exam is conducted once a year and lakhs of candidates apply and appear for the examination. The application procedure of the exam can be completed on the official website of UPSEE i.e. upsee.nic.in.

UPSEE Exam Date for the year 2020 is scheduled to be 19th April 2020 which is a tentative date of the examination.

  • The university offers courses such as B. tech (in Engineering and Agriculture), B. Arch, B. Pharm, Fashion Designing, Apparel Designing, Hotel Management, MCA, and MBA.
  • For courses such as Fashion Designing, Apparel Designing, and MCA, Lateral Entry admissions are also available.

UPSEE Exam is conducted in various cities of Uttar Pradesh and other states as well. It is a paper and pen-based test conducted in various slots. Students who possess diploma and are willing to take admission to 2nd year of a program offered by the institute would be advised to apply for and qualify UPSEE. They can later get admission through Lateral Entry procedure.

  • Students belonging to other states of the country other than Uttar Pradesh can also apply for the exam as the university has reserved 20% seats for them. The students are primarily shortlisted based on the merit list released by the institutes.

Who can apply for UPSEE?

The university releases eligibility criteria for students who wish to take UPSEE. Candidates willing to take the exam must ensure that they fulfill these criteria defined by the university. The basic requirement to appear in UPSEE is to have passed 12th class or equivalent examination from a recognized board.

  • Candidates applying for lateral entry admission must possess a Diploma of at least 3 yeas of duration from a recognized university.

Candidates wo fulfill to qualify the below mentioned requirements can apply for the exam:

  • Candidates with 45% marks in aggregate in their 12th class or an equivalent examination with three main subjects namely Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from a recognized board.
  • Candidates of reserved category are required to secure at least 40% marks in aggregate.
  • No such age limit bar is set for students to apply for the examination.
  • Candidates with 3 years of diploma in Architecture can apply for B. Arch provided they completed their diploma from an institute recognized by Central or State Government.
