Cloud Computing With Azure

Why Cloud Computing

10 years back, companies were storing everything in-house i.e independently servers. But over time with internet speed becoming better, people discovered a brand new way to store everything.

Before Cloud, companies were storing everything offline i.e hosting websites on their on-premise servers, and servers are added whenever required. But, there have been some difficulties with this kind of setup.

Problems with the private model

  • This setup is expensive.
  • Your servers will undoubtedly be idle the majority of the time.
  • Every machine will fail one day, maintaining these many servers becomes a tough task.

To deal with these problems we had to come up with a brand new style of infrastructure. Hence, we developed Cloud. With cloud computing, every one of these problems were solved

  • Put important computer data on Cloud Servers and you're set. Forget about buying expensive servers.
  • Scalability, the capacity of server will scale up or scale down according to the traffic automatically.
  • Your cloud provider will manage your servers, hence no worries in regards to the underlying infrastructure.

Microsoft Azure is a cloud computing platform.

What's Cloud Computing

It's the use of remote servers on the net to store, manage and process data rather than local server or your own personal computer.

Store: Store large or small files on the cloud, which you may access away from home!

Manage: Manage important computer data with optimized databases on the cloud.

Process: With scalable compute power on the cloud, you are able to process any number of data in moments.

There are three categories in cloud computing

SaaS (Software as a Service)

  • It allows companies to make use of software without purchasing them, which reduces the expenditure of the company drastically, because they are already installed on the cloud servers they can be quickly deployed and therefore saves time.

PaaS (Platform as a Service)

  • It allows developers to construct applications, collaborate on projects and never having to purchase or maintain infrastructure.

IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service)

  • It allows companies to rent servers, space for storage, etc. from a cloud provider.

What's Microsoft Azure

A business which supplies these cloud services, is called a cloud provider. Now, there are a lot of cloud providers on the market, one Microsoft Azure.

Microsoft Azure is really a cloud computing platform created by Microsoft which developers and IT professionals use to construct, deploy and manage applications through their global network of datacentres.

Azure Services

Microsoft Azure provides various services that will allow you to in computing in one of the ways or another and these services are clubbed into domains. Here certainly are a few notable domains:

Compute

It's used to process data on the cloud by using powerful processors which serve multiple instances at a time.

Storage Services

The storage since the name suggests, is used to store data in the cloud with the capability to scale as and when required. This data could be stored anywhere.

Database

Database domain is used to provide consistent relational and non relational database instances managed by Azure.

Networking

It allows you to connect to cloud and on-premise infrastructure and services to obtain great user experience
