This name is given in reference to Wallaby, a marsupial about which we all have an idea that it is widely distributed throughout Australia. The team got its name during the tour of the Australian Rugby team’s UK & North America in 1908.

New Zealand had completed their tour during the same period and English designated them as All Blacks.
