Is Yoga Teacher Training in India Nearly Broke You?

I am explaining my story here; I hope you love this.

In 2015, I started practicing yoga. I am into this practice since I broke my heart and soul. One of my yogi friends recommended it might help. It did. Then I loved, and I felt at the end of a class, all tingly, happy, and calm. Practicing made me a sense of a little less broken.

Then by the mid of 2016, I decided to share these experiences. I might teach my family, friends, and could work part-time as a yoga teacher, I would like to help people find their bliss. I thought this yoga practice would help teenagers with depression and anxiety. Many people with eating disorders. I decided to help my overweight mother, my friend who has diabetes, my friend going through a breakup, my cousin who’d had a stroke. I was so excited.

Then I search for a Yoga Teacher Training course. When I was searching on the internet, I found Rishikesh, India is called the Yoga Capital of the World. I got some "); background-size: 1px 1px; background-position: 0px calc(1em + 1px);">200 Hour Hatha Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh, "); background-size: 1px 1px; background-position: 0px calc(1em + 1px);">200 Hour Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training in India. I found Shiva Tattva Yoga in Rishikesh, which has good reviews, and I checked the course fee, and I could afford it. Finally, the stars aligned.

My Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh on the way for a 200hr Yoga TTC course!

I have learned the asanas, Ayurveda, sutras and chakras, and Patanjali and neti pots and meditation and nutrition. Really my Rishikesh Yoga tour was a wonderful experience. With me there are few ten more students joined different parts of the world. We chanted in Sanskrit. We taught hour-long classes to each other with a Yoga Alliance certified instructor. We practiced and practiced. I finally did Urdhva Dhanurasana, wheel pose, which I couldn’t do previously.

And then something snapped. I confused during the study. I couldn’t do all the head stands and handstands and balances, which was taught.

I started asking to take classes for older people, for people in bigger bodies, for tradespeople, for people who aren’t shoring babe bendy beauties. People who don’t like their bodies. Who can’t do forward folds, let alone wheel poses?

Yoga philosophy was one of the parts of our course. I asked about the philosophy to the teacher who was explaining to us; the ego, the need for presence. Her answer to my questions impressed me, and I learned so many things in her class.

In Rishikesh, we also go for an outing on the weekend with our lead teacher and all my classmates. Things go on, and after 25days, our course was complete. On the last day, there was a certification day. I was so excited to receive a certificate. Then I backed to my country and helped people, which was my plan.

I am happy and calm and tingly.

I am not broken.
