Top Methods To Fix Chrome Not Being Responsive

One: Remove Any Unwanted Extensions/Add-Ons

Select the 3 vertical dots or menu button on the top right
Now, select the more tools option and then click on the extensions
Now view all the installed extensions in your Chrome and disable the unwanted ones by clicking the "Enabled" checkbox and re-launch your Chrome

Launch your Google Chrome and scroll to the 3 vertical dots or menu icon on the top right
Now hit the "Help" option and then select the "About Google Chrome"
Now your Chrome should automatically begin the update check and then its installation
After the Chrome is done updating, re-launch it to see if it works fine
