The FPOs facilitate hassle free access to financial and non-financial services at doorstep of the farmer at the right time.
Farmer Producer Organization is formed with the chief aim to develop the socio economic status of the farmers through enhancement in food productivity, efficient aggregation facilities, cost reduction in food processing by utilization of efficient marketing tools and technique.

The farmers associated with Tirhut Honey Farmers Producer Organization have made this village a role model already, but we have miles to go as said by the President of the organization Dr Sadhana Kumari. The objectives of FPOs are to avoid middlemen during the purchase of agriculture produce, fertilizers and pesticides and seeds to have common agriculture machinery such as transport vehicle, godowns and others.
The FPO is located in Sarhanchiya village in Aurai Block of, Muzaffarpur Distt Bihar and engaged in producing numerous agri based product like as Bee keeping, Vermi-compost making, Desi cow sanrakshan and samvardhan, Gonile making and producing seeds of major vegetable and cereals in and around the 6 blocks of Muzaffarpur District i.e.-Aurai, Katara, Bochacha, Kurahani, Gayaghat and Meenapur. Meanwhile, the FPO would also facilitate farmers to sell their produce without involving the role of middlemen.
Moreover, the setting up of FPOs will give better aggregate solidarity to improved access to quality information, innovation, motorization, credit and better showcasing access. This will assist cultivators with cutting their homestead creation costs, while improving their profits as the FPOs will all in all can anticipate them.
