  • Scoville / SHU scale: 850,000 - 1,300,000o Transplant period: March, April, Mayo Distance between rows: 70 cmo Distance on the row: 50 cm

The plant looks like a sapling and its spicy fruits have a pendulous shape, with a length of about 3 centimeters and a color that starts with green and ends in a bright red. The peculiarity of the fruit in general is the spiciness which varies according to the type of hottest chilli pepper and is measured with the Scoville scale. What gives it this peculiarity is capsaicin, an alkaloid that is contained in the fruit in different percentages.

The properties of this fruit, however, do not stop at those more evident to the taste; chili pepper is rich in active ingredients that can be used for various reasons. Meanwhile, the same capsaicin is a substance capable of stimulating blood flow, that is, it is rubefactory and then it can be used in preparations to counteract the effects of arthritis and muscle pain. Not only that, it can lower cholesterol, activate the metabolism, helping to keep weight under control and fight the onset of bacteria.

Due to its spiciness, however, excessive use can give problems of irritability to the gastric system so it should be limited if you are subject to gastritis, ulcers and gatrointeritis.

It is not known that it is also rich in vitamins of families A, B, C, E, K and in mineral salts, among which the highest percentages are to be counted for calcium, potassium and copper. It also contains lecithin, bioflavonoids and carotenoids. You could literally stock up on vitamin C: in 100 grams of chillies there are over 200 grams of vitamin C. The only problem is that you can't eat large quantities for sure, for obvious reasons.

As with any fruit, vegetable and spice, vitamins can be acquired especially when they are fresh, because being volatile substances, their concentration drastically decreases when the fruits are dried. Therefore, the Naga viper pepper should also be consumed directly taken from the plant, without the necessary preparations to be able to grind it.

Chillies have different colors, sizes and shapes, depending on the type: there are more than three thousand species. You can go from the brightest red fruit to yellow, passing through orange. Then there are oblong, squat and various sizes.
