10 Tips to Protect Yourself from Electromagnetic Waves from Cellphones

Author: Tarun Sharma

With 1.9 billion users worldwide, mobile phones have become an essential technological device that are unlikely to disappear anytime soon. But a crucial question arises: Are electromagnetic waves from mobile phones dangerous for health?

You have certainly heard it said before that cell phone use exposes us to high levels of radiation, which could be potentially dangerous to our health.

Experts warn that studies have successfully established a link (at least theoretically) between cell phone use and a range of illnesses ranging from increased headaches, to high blood pressure, to early onset of Alzheimer's disease or cancer.

This research is preliminary and that much more work will be needed to be sure of the cumulative effects of radiation and how it affects people. While awaiting confirmation of the research, it is still necessary to take precautions with regard to the use of cell phones, starting now.

How to protect yourself against harmful waves from cell phones?

Here are 10 new habits that will allow you to limit your exposure to potentially harmful waves from cell phones:

1. Limit the time you use your phone as much as possible

Reduce cell phone use to the most needed calls. If you still have to make a phone call, be as brief as possible. Research shows that a short call of even two minutes can alter the natural functioning of the brain's electrical activity for an hour.

2. Prefer texting over calls

Obviously, you can't do this while driving or doing any activity that requires your full attention, but when you can, text over calls.

3. Choose a low radiation phone (SAR - Specific Absorption Rate)

Each telephone has what is called a Sar or Specific Absorption Rate, that is to say an index making it possible to measure the quantity of energy conveyed by the radiofrequencies emitted to the user. If your cell phone has high SAR, consider replacing it with a low radiation phone. Indeed, because each time you make or receive a call, the signal of your phone passes by electromagnetic waves: scientists do not yet know - fully - how much these waves affect our health, which is why it is better to replace your current phone model with a low emission phone. 4. When making a call, use the loudspeaker or a hands-free kit

According to studies, the use of a loudspeaker or a hands-free kit offers better protection against the electromagnetic waves of the mobile phone. In fact, when the telephone is used normally, the waves emitted are absorbed directly by the temporal lobe of the brain - part of the brain which manages hearing, long-term memory, speech and even vision.

5. Avoid carrying your phone with you (e.g. in your pocket, on your waist, etc.)

Cell phones emit and transmit electromagnetic waves which are absorbed by the soft tissues of our body, which would be potentially dangerous. A study has indeed suggested that men who carry their cell phones in their pants pockets could see their sperm count reduced by almost a third!

6. If you are not using a hands-free kit, keep the phone away from your ear while your call is connected.

If you use your telephone without a "hands-free" kit, wait for your correspondent to pick up before placing the telephone close to your ear.

7. Avoid using your laptop in "metallic" spaces

It might sound funny, but using your phone in metallic enclosed places, such as an elevator or a car, will hamper signal strength and force the phone to use more power to connect - exposing you more to harmful waves.

8. Avoid calls in places where the network signal is weak

As in the previous point, using the laptop in places where the network is weak will force your phone to use more power. Prefer calls in places where the network signal is therefore better.

9. Protect yourself from electromagnetic waves

You can protect yourself against electromagnetic fields by purchasing a scientifically validated EMF protection device. EMF protection devices are specially designed to be applied on the back of cell phones to protect you from magnetic waves by deflecting them before they reach your head.

One such device is SmartDot. This magnetic disc retunes EMFs at the source to ensure they don’t harm the human body. Read this in-depth SmartDot EMF review to know more about the device.

10. Finally…eat healthy

And yes! As always, good nutrition is essential! Why? Quite simply because it has been shown that radiation reduces the amounts of anti-oxidants and certain vitamins in our body! So, consider supplementing your diet with anti-oxidants like catalase, glutathione or vitamin CoQ10. You can also supplement your diet with melatonin, Zinc or Gingo Biloba.
