Whenever we hear about marriage, the first thing that comes to our mind is a big celebration, eye-catchy decoration, mouth-watering foods, music and dance, and whatnot. But marriage is just not stuck in this celebration only, it has many colours one of them is the rituals especially the Brahmin wedding. These rituals are highly traditional and followed by almost all the generations, as these have some hidden reasons and meaning for the happy married life.

Siddhant ceremony – In this celebration both the families Panjis is observed by the priest of both sides. In this ritual acceptance will be given by the Panjikar that both the bride and groom are accepted for the wedding. This ritual is performed before the actual Brahmin matrimony. Nischaithambul – In general terms known as Roka the engagement. In this ritual, rings are exchanged between the Brahmin bride and groom. In normal circumstances, the marriage date is fixed within the month of engagement.

Naandi Pooja ritual – This Pooja ritual performed ten days before the marriage happens. A special Pooja is performed from both sides of the family of the bride and groom.

Yedur Kansani ceremony – This ceremony is meant for both the families. In this both the families meet and greet the family member of the other family with the female member who brings the Haldi and Chandan. The guests are welcome with rose water sparkle. This ritually basically is to build and strong relationship between the two families who are going to join.

Mehendi ceremony – This ceremony conducted just before one of the weddings. This is among many ceremonies one of the most fun-filled activities. In this ritual, all the females of the bride and groom decorate their hands and feet with the designs made with the Mehendi. This is one of the specious occasions in the marriage ceremony added with fun activities like singing and dancing of folk songs.

Haldi ceremony – In this ceremony females of the brooms family apply Haldi paste to the grooms not only face but on the entire body. This takes place in the early morning day when marriage is decided to happen.

Groom’s entry into the wedding venue – This ceremony is meant to give a special welcome and respect to the Groom and his family. In this Bride, a family is waiting at the entrance with the rain of flowers and applying sandal paste on the forehead of the groom and his friends.

Gouri Pooja – This ceremony is to take the blessing of the goddess Gouri for the happy and successful marriage life by the Brahmin matrimony brides.Wedding ceremony - In this special ritual, both the bride and groom sit together in from of the fire kund. Fire is known as the holiest element of one of the elements of life. It has the power to make you purified from your sole that is why it is worshipped by both.
