How to use Skype emoticons to ace the chats!
Humans have a weird habit of always trying to express themselves. They want to tell others what they think, share their emotions and if that doesn’t happen, they tend to go all crazy and frustrated. With social networking on a high, there’s no one in this world left out without a friend or a shoulder to cry on. What I’m trying to get to your notice by rambling on and on is we love to speak our mind, tell people what we feel. And what is the thing that helps you smile or cry or laugh or go all angry on a chat? Yeah, right, it’s those quirky emoticons!
Emoticons are a great way of having some fun with a Skype chat. You can use them to express your every mood, whether you’re (happy), (think)ing or (wait)ing. But really the sky’s the limit when it comes to expressing yourself creatively with emoticons. For example: try playing a few rounds of emoticon movie charades in your favorite group chat. All you have to do is combine emoticons to make movie titles, the first person to guess the movie wins.
Whether it’s with a lover or a old group of friends, we all know how important emoticons can be to truly express yourselves. You have all sorts of emoticon on the Skype chat, like any other chat. But there are other hidden smileys and emoticons too. And you can also add mood messages to a Skype chat. Here’s how to send ‘mood messages’ on a Skype chat:
Sign in to Skype.
Under the menu bar, click your display name. Your profile opens in the main window.
Click in the field next to the Mood, then enter your new mood message, or copy and paste a web link.
Click the tick icon or press Enter. Your contacts can now see your mood message, or click the link you provided. To cancel the message you’ve just entered, click X.
If you don’t want to have a mood message displayed in your profile, just click in the mood message field, delete it, then click the tick icon or press Enter.
There are so many other emoticons on the Skype chat that you didn’t know about and you can find all of them out on the chat options if you do some fishing. Also, there are short codes for them. For instance, you can type any of these- :) :=) :-)- to get a smiling emoticon. Likewise for other emoticons, whether they are hidden or not. So you sure got a way now to spice up your Skype chat. If you thought Skype can’t do much, well get yourself corrected, there’s nothing Skype can’t do!
