When we talk about online games, it simply means that they are played online and therefore involve playing with/against others online.

This is because it can take the child out of their social context and lead to poorer contact with friends. For example, suppose a child is not allowed to play games in the evening. In that case, this can lead to a feeling of exclusion at school because the child was not involved in the common activity the night before, similar to missing a soccer training session.
