How Do I Recover My SBCGlobal Net Email?

Author: Cynthia Walton

SBCGlobal Email is a long-standing email service that has served many people for many years. Initially, it was a standalone email, but later many people had problems with sbcglobal.net emails and they often complain that my sbcglobal email is not working, resulting in a huge loss of their users. Due to the huge loss of the business, the email service was sold to AT&T. As a result, SBCGlobal Email now acts as an ancillary email to AT&T Incorporation.

Because of this, many people feel that my sbcglobal email has stopped working. However, this is not the case. Since SBCGlobal is now working under the umbrella of AT&T, therefore, people with older SBCGlobal email accounts can access their accounts through the AT&T email login page. However, we could not create a new email account with the @ sbcglobal.net suffix in the email address.

Even after joining AT&T, users experience sbcglobal net email not working properly. There can be many reasons for this. Some very common problems associated with this are listed below:

  1. Incorrect Mail Server Settings

Many a time incorrect mail server settings are the root cause of sbcglobal.net email problems when we try to access our email account from a third party email client instead of logging in through the AT&T login page. These server settings are very important to maintain the proper receiving and sending of emails. Following are the settings for IMAP account type, which is preferred to use in place of POP because using POP we cannot use email account in different devices, while the opposite is the case with IMAP:

a. Incoming Mail Server-IMAP

Server: imap.mail.att.net

Port Number: 993

TLS Requirement: Yes

SSL Requirement: Yes

b. Outgoing Mail Server- SMTP

Server: smtp.mail.att.net

Port Number: 465

TLS Requirement: Yes

SSL Requirement: Yes

2. Corrupted Browser Cache and Cookies Files

Error in browser cookies files is the second main reason for why sbcglobal net email is not working. These are the files that are stored in the browser for every website you visit which contains a little information about those so as to access them faster next time you visit them. Errors in saving these files can result in the hindered access to the website, therefore, it is advisable to access your SBCGlobal email account after clearing your browser cookies and cache files.

3. Email Servers are Down or Not Working

If you are visiting the AT&T website to do the SBCGlobal email login, but repeatedly getting 500 number related errors, then the servers of the email service provider are down. This can be due to regular maintenance of the server and in that scenario, you have to wait for some time till these are restored to normal functioning. Normally it take four to five hours to restore each and every things. These are the solution that can follow and resolve your SBCGlobal email account not working and many other issues within very short period of time. You need to just follow each and every steps very carefully.
