The Museum of Modern Fart Opens its Virtual Gates - Press Release
We have so many museums, but not a single one covers a topic that many would argue has been neglected for too long.
Even the museum of natural history doesn’t include the most natural thing of all…
Farts.
Farts are a cross-millennia obsession. From the writings of Homer, through those of Benjamin Franklin and his "Fart Proudly" essay. From the 19th-century professional fart entertainers to today’s modern literature and media.
"Humans created language as a way to find out who smelt it and who dealt it," explains the Head of Flatulence at Johns Fartkins University. "Years later, language reached a crucial milestone when humans began to tell fart jokes."
Books, like Does it Fart? and The Gas We Pass, have become best sellers. Fart videos featuring animal farts get millions of hits on YouTube. Even celebrities have had their farting escapades on-air (fartscapades?).
However, despite their popularity and timelessness, farts have never been celebrated in a dedicated museum that recognizes them as the cultural pillars they are. Until now.
The Museum of Modern Fart, now open in an entirely virtual format, does just that. Featuring free exhibits such as Animal Farts, Famous farts, Fart jokes, Fart videos, and an interactive fart mixer, the museum has something for everyone. For less than the price of a cup of coffee you can purchase a ticket that’ll grant you further admission to the finger pull interactive exhibit, a 3D gallery of animal fart reactions, and more. You can even get a stinky souvenir at the gift shop.
Why now?
The reason is the pandemic. Being quarantined for so long, people are looking for ways to break their daily routine and regain normalcy. To shake off the seriousness of it all and smile. To keep the kids entertained for 30 whole minutes. Visiting the fart museum is the perfect escape. Its cultural enrichment is a welcomed bonus.
The critics applaud the Museum’s simplicity. "The Museum of Modern Fart is one I can immediately appreciate. No tour guide required.", a visitor from Oklahoma City, OK says.
Others have praised the Museum for its nostalgic value, claiming it a glimpse into the early days of the internet.
Still, we have a deeper vision. Our ultimate goal when building the Museum of Modern Fart was this: Unity.
No matter what differences we have, there are two universal truths we all share: everyone farts. And farts are funny.
To top it off, the Museum of Modern Fart has pledged to donate 1% of its sales to the planet with its Farts for Good Initiative. Finally, a way to offset personal CO2 emissions.
So, whether it’s because of the laughs, the nostalgia, the gift shop, the fight for good, or just want an escape, stroll the isles of the Museum of Modern Fart for an un-fart-gettable experience.
