How to make your Bedroom better?
Like the kitchen, our bedroom really needs to be as good as it can be. Although a place where we sleep, our bedroom needs to be inviting and homely, not to mention every home has one! With this in mind, we have come up with some ideas to help you build the perfect bedroom space. No matter how simple or daring your taste is, there’s something for everyone.
WallpaperIf you’re a bit bored of the same old magnolia walls, then why not go for wallpaper? Although wallpaper doesn’t always work in every room, we certainly think that you can get away with it in the bedroom. It’s a really good and easy way to add a bit of character and style into your bedroom without having to splash the cash too much. You can introduce a modern style wallpaper or go for something more traditional, or even create a feature wall to jazz things up?
Stick to a themeIt’s easy to get carried away with buying all sorts of bits – only to find that most of it doesn’t go together! Oops! Although a mix of deigns and styles works well, if you follow a theme generally then things will put much better put together and no unattractive clashes. A nautical theme is great in a bedroom, calming and aesthetically pleasing.
Less is moreThis is so important, especially in the bedroom. Clutter accumulates naturally anyway, so the last thing we want is to introduce too many things that will take up valuable surface space. A simple interior can look very elegant, you don’t want too much going on.
Lay a statement floorMuch like the wall, the flooring is a vocal point of a room and this is no exception in the bedroom, so it’s an important element to get right! Engineered wood flooring always works wonders in the bedroom, offering a classical plush statement while still offering fantastic practical benefits. You can match it with a fancy rug too, maybe one that matches the wall you have or soft furnishings.
Add artworkWhat better place to hang your most loved pieces of art and paintings than the bedroom? Hopefully they are well out of danger of getting knocked down and broken and you can really enjoy them on a lazy Sunday morning. You could even go one step further and go for a gallery wall, trendy and traditional in one.
Be clever with your layoutThis is really important, most especially if you’re limited on space. All bedrooms need a bed, which is the main point of the room and take a lot of room and most of the time the rest of the furniture needs to fit around it – there’s nothing worse than having to weave in and out of furniture! Think strategically about your layout.
Statement bedAs mentioned above, the bed is the main point of the room and therefore it needs to look good. Perhaps introduce a canopy over your bed, or go for a colour that contrasts nicely against the rest of the room, to add lots of character.
