The term cabin crew or more likely "air hostess "fascinates us. We always assume that the job of an air hostess is very glamorous and comfortable. But there is another side of the story too. The position of a cabin crew faces challenges too.

You have to be away from your dear family for 6-7 days due to different flight schedules. Sometimes you will feel exhausted but still have to put a broad smile on your face while welcoming the passengers on board, serving drinks and food, and ensuring they have a comfortable and safe flight experience. Some passengers are very hard to deal with. Sometimes they shout and scream. Dealing with them in a calm and composed manner is very challenging but you have to be very patient while dealing with them.

You will not have a fixed schedule and offs. You have to report to duty according to the flight times, it can be early morning or late night.

People have a notion that cabin crew just serve food and drinks; they are so wrong. Cabin crew is a lot more than that. Apart from serving food and refreshments cabin crew are also responsible for the safety of the passengers. During the time of emergency, you need to evacuate the plane which is indeed a challenging thing because the passengers on board will be very much scared and dealing with all of them very calmly and tactfully is very difficult. I am sure cabin crews are very well trained by efficient instructors of top air hostess training college who have real-life experiences but still as a human being everybody has some fears and apprehensions and especially during the time of emergencies it is very hard to put up a broad smile on your face and ensuring passengers who are scared to death that everything will be alright.
