How To Ace Your Mascara Look

Makeup is an integral part of our lives. Do it well and heads turn your way and you command the eyes in the room.

One of the simplest and easiest ways to grab that attention is with mascara. It’s versatile and makes your eyes stand out with those longer, thicker, and darker lashes. It gives your eyes character. To make your eyes speak louder than words ever could, here are a few tips to help you ace the mascara makeup game and put a professional to shame.

Curl Those Lashes!

One of the steps to those perfect gorgeous eyes are the lashes. So let's prep them before we pick up the mascara. The eyelash curler breathes life into your lashes by lifting them up and giving them more curl. Make sure to get the most of your lashes in the curler by carefully trying to get as close to the lash line as possible.

Get The Eye Primer

Using an eye primer isn't by any means necessary, but it goes a long way towards having stunning lashes. The primer helps the mascara stick to your lashes better. This also reduces the chances of you smudging that mascara makeup. So if you have the time, try and get a coating or two of the primer on both your top and bottom lashes. Make sure to wait for about 30-60 seconds between each coat.

Mascara Brush Hacks

The mascara brush is a magic wand that can be wielded in many ways for a variety of results. A simple yet effective way to use the brush is to rotate the brush along the length of the eyelash when applying mascara. This accentuates that look of having long lashes.

An alternative way to achieve that "long lash'' look is to wield your brush vertically. Take the effort to brush your lashes individually from the base to the tip. Do this for both your top and bottom lashes.

That's not all you can do with your mascara brush. With this brush, you can quickly breathe life into your eyebrows as well. Very gently use your brush as an eyebrow pencil to apply to them a shade that complements your brows.

Comb Away Clumps

Every one of us has had those days where we find dry clumps of mascara on our lashes. To avoid these clumps, all you have to do is comb over your lashes with your mascara brush till they are dry.

Be Smudge-Free

It's possible that you may end up with a few smudges if your hands are not steady. The simple solution to that is to run a cotton bud over your eyelid to wipe away the smudges.

Another eccentric approach to the smudge problem is to use a business card. Place it over your eyelid at the base of your lashes while applying the mascara. This prevents smudging and is a far smarter approach if you have eyeshadow on.

Curl Those Lashes, Again!

Once your lashes have dried, go back in there with your eyelash curler and give them that extra curl to liven them up!

And that’s it! Now that you know how to ace your mascara look, go make a statement with your beautiful, well-defined lashes!
