Colors That Women Prefer On Men

Author: Roles Smith

There are only a handful of colors that perform well in research surveys time and time again when it comes to finding out which colors women generally like to see on men who are trying to get their attention. The colors which symbolize intelligence, power, social status, and confidence are usually the winners and are seen as most attractive to women.

This article contains a list of the colors that performed best across a range of survey. Of course, it always comes down to a specific woman’s individual preferences and you should not be choosing a color you feel is unflattering on you just for the sake of attracting the woman’s attention. However, there should be at least one or two colors on the list that you will feel good about wearing.

1. Red

Red is one of the standout colors that attract women. It suggests power, good health, money, social status, and passion. From a slightly different viewpoint, red can also boost the wearer’s confidence, which in turn makes him more attractive to women, too. In one of the studies on the psychology of color, women were more sexually attracted to men wearing red than blue or green. The preference for the red color is essentially a biological and cultural response.

2. Purple

A survey result showed that men are usually more likely to get a ‘yes’ when he asks a woman on a date if he is wearing purple. Approximately thirty-six percent of women said that they would definitely accept an invitation to go on a date from a man wearing purple.

3. Black

The similar survey showed that black was the second-choice color. Another survey showed that black is actually an ideal color for a first date. Black tends to inspire confidence, which leads to the others perceiving you as more trustworthy and capable, and it is associated with intelligence and sexiness. More than fifty percent of women in this survey preferred black such as a black shirt with black letters over the other colors.

4. Blue

A study showed that blue is the color that women most love to see on men. Red was not the only one on the list, but blue earned almost 42 percent of the votes. You can even go for the darker shades of blue such as the grey family and wear a grey shirt with white lettering.

5. White

This one is a little more specific than just a color. A survey showed that many women love men in plain white t-shirt and jeans. This particular rugged, casual look tends to beat the tuxedo by about 45 percent. The plain white tee alone beats the dress shirt and the knit-short-sleeved polo. The white t-shirts also came in third place in the survey.
