Oil Water Separators provide a simple process for separating oil from waste water. Oil and other high density impurities present in Waste Water, when drained without separation, are harmful to our environment. These contaminations when get soaked in soil, will affect the soil’s fertility. Continuous discharge of the contaminants affects the underground water. The implications are so severe that there are strict Government laws enforced to ensure disposal of Waste Water after proper treatment and separation.
It has now become mandatory to install Oil Water Separators in the downstream of any Waste Water discharge. We have our own list of parameters that need to be tested and authenticated, if you already have the information, well and Good. But if you don’t, don’t get panic, we will do the job for you. We will arrange a Site Visit immediately. Our Engineers would take samples of the Waste Water at varied time intervals for at least 3 days and send the samples to our laboratory. Flow rates at different times will also be measured.
Then based on the results received from our Lab and the data collected during our initial visit, our Design Team meets to discuss and after careful and collective consideration, we choose about the model of Machinery that would be suitable for that particular site. Then we determine the size of the equipment taking into account both the minimum and maximum flow rates of Waste Water.
Waste Water flow Rate and the retention time or rising time play a vital role in determining the size of the separator. If the flow rate is more, the water will enter the equipment and exit it in less time leaving insufficient time in the equipment to complete full separation. Increasing the retention time means increasing the size of the equipment which again is a cost implication. Hence sizing of the Separator requires the optimisation of flow rate Vs. Retention time.
Retention time is also directly related to the surface area and as said earlier increasing the surface area will result in more cost. So we at Enbitec increase surface area without increasing the size of the equipment but by rather reducing it. We achieve the feat by two different methods and both find their own applications in different fields.
For low flow rate application we suggest our Coalesce packed separator. In this case we increase the surface area of the equipment by introducing a Coalesce in the Separator. An increased flow rate is obtained at lesser space. For high flow rate applications we suggest our Tilted Plate and Coalesce packed Separator that uses Tilted Plates along with Coalesce to separate oil from Waste Water. Both the types of Separators come inbuilt with an Oil skimming and sludge removing system. A floating weir arrangement ensures effective separation of pure water from the equipment.
