Last season, Will Power (Team Penske) won the Verizon Indycar Series Championship, with the championship coming down to the final race of the season. Again. For 9 straight years, the Indycar series champion has not been able to claim that title until the series' final race had been run. This provided for plenty of thrills, excitement, and ongoing drama, as last year's season featured a record-tying 11 different race winners.

This year's season might prove to be just as exciting. Indycar has added 2 new races into the fold this upcoming season, making it 17 races for 2015.

They kick off their season with one of the 2 new races. Indycar will be heading south on Sunday, March 8, to Brasilia, Brazil, to the Autodromo Internacional Nelson Piquet road course. The other additional race will be The Indy Grand Prix of Louisiana, on Sunday, April 12, at NOLA Motorsports Park near New Orleans.
