Windows installation error

However, installing a new Windows update is not always a happy experience. Various problems can arise when installing a Windows update. The following tips can help you find the problem on your device. Make sure your PC is plugged into a power source and connected to a strong and reliable internet connection. Administrator rights are also required for some updates. If you have administrator access, that's fine, but if not, look for a local user or administrator account in Windows 10. Windows updates are not small and take up a lot of storage space. Therefore, it is important that your device has enough storage space for the update to run smoothly. Your device needs 16 GB of free space to update a 32-bit operating system and 20 GB of free space to update a 64-bit operating system. You can use a USB drive to update your Windows if your device doesn't have that much free space.

Reboot to apply installed updates

Most updates require you to restart your device. Before doing this, save your work and close all open applications. Next, select Start> Power and select either Refresh and restart or Refresh and shut down.

Run Windows Update again

After you download the updates, more updates may be available. After completing the above steps, run Windows Update again by selecting Start> Settings> Update & Security> Windows Update> Check for updates. Download and install any remaining updates.

Remove/disconnect external hardware

External hardware can sometimes cause obstacles when running a Windows update. Therefore, users are advised to remove all external devices, drives, docks, and other hardware that is not required for the basic functionality of the device. Once you have removed all of these devices, you can try running the update.

Updating Third-Party Drivers

If you upgraded your device with new hardware, check the driver manufacturer's website for third-party driver updates and installation instructions. Update the drivers and run the windows update again to see if it works smoothly and error-free.

Check Device Manager for errors

Type "device manager" in the search box on the taskbar and select the same in the list of results. Once the window opens, look carefully for a device that has a yellow exclamation mark on it. If necessary, you must select each category to see the list of devices. If you see a device with a yellow exclamation mark, select it. Choose Action and choose either Update or Uninstall to fix any errors.
