What are your summer plans with the kids?
My kids informed me that we have 8 days of school left today.
And I thought, whoa....perhaps it's time to get my act together for fun summer planning!
This time, I don't mean the camps and family vacations. I'm talking about the small things that make summer stand out in a child's (and adult's) memory.
Things like: staying up late for a drive-in movie, lazy afternoons at the pool, and ice cream cones dripping down your arm. If I'm being honest, these are the things I look forward to about summer.
It's a break from the crazy schedule of the school year - and a chance to slow down and watch your kids...
just be kids.
So, if you're looking to make the most of your summer (or you'd love a set of activities for when the days get long), don't miss the Ultimate Summer Bucket List for Kids. (Free pdf on the post)

Check out the post, then make your own bucket list together, and spend the rest of summer marking off your fun! Imagine how much better these hot days will be when you have a little intention behind them. And how much more you’ll be able to enjoy when you are truly taking in the sunshine and fun.
"Summer has a flavor like no other. Always fresh and simmered in sunshine. " – Oprah Winfrey
But, what if a bucket list is too much pressure?
If you write a summer bucket list only to worry about getting everything done – stop right there! Take a different approach!
Instead, write down things as you DO them this summer.
Spend the summer creating a list of fun activities you’ve completed. You’ll be reminding yourself of what you’ve done, not what you have left. And at the end of your time together, you’ll be amazed at all the cool family time you had.
(Plus, focusing on positive progress is a huge trick for overall happiness and motivation.)
P.S. There’s an adult list for moms too! – Because I’m always looking out for you hard working grownups as well.
"Summer afternoon – summer afternoon: to me those have always been the two most beautiful words in the English language." – Henry James
