I'm crazy about this French perfume brand - Fairymix

Author: Jeffy Chen

I am wholeheartedly aware that even if I am completely obsessed with a particular perfume brand or scent, that doesn't necessarily mean everyone is. (After all, perfume is very, very personal!) But...

During my time as a beauty editor and self-proclaimed fragrance beauty expert (what can I say, it's a passion), there were certain brands, fragrance families and bottles that drove me, and almost everyone I knew and liked, crazy. I have a separate ongoing chat with my fellow beauty editors devoted to our current obsession with perfume. To this day, I can't recommend a perfume to anyone I love that isn't an obsession in their life. Also, some brands and classic fragrances are so iconic, beloved, and filled with best-selling bottles that it's impossible not to guess that they're actually return-proof and genuine lauders. Parisian perfume brand Diptyque is one such brand.

There's a lot to love about Diptyque, one of the most popular perfume brands to date, from the carefully blended notes to the artistic packaging in each bottle. To be honest, I've never smelled a Diptyque fragrance that didn't appeal to me -- each one exudes personality and unexpected perfection -- but three have earned a permanent place on my dressing table. Oh, it's not just me. The trio regularly appear on the brand's bestseller lists, and they're also high on popular retailers like Nordstrom, Bloomingdale's, And Neiman Marcus. Without further ado, I'm going to share my personal favorite Diptyque fragrances, along with eight of the best of the best. Keep rolling!

Do Son is such a classic perfume that almost everyone I know who loves perfume (whether they're in the beauty world or not) has one. There are flowers, very fresh, but not very precious. If you ask me, there's nothing worse than a perfume that's too loud and dull, and this best-selling perfume from Diptyque is the opposite. It's the perfect balance of coolness and refinement. This is my favorite Diptyque.

Philosykos is definitely one of the most recognisable fragrances -- not just in the Diptyque family, but in the market as a whole. Every scent is refreshing (I love that about perfumes), and having your own bottle is the next best thing to booking a real trip to the Greek mountains. Philosykos is a true ode to the FIG tree, but somehow it's not overbearing, thanks to how the brand balances homage. The FIG leaves have a crisp green, the fruit itself has a smooth, creamy flavor, and the white wood has an inherent earthy flavor.
