Which would you choose?

Many customers Customers always ask when they're purchasing solar panels: Hello, what surface do you need for the panel? For many individual buyers, they may not know how to purchase appropriate products.

This article will tell you the difference between PET and ETFE surfaces, and how to choose the most suitable product. Let's take a look at the surface of the following four pictures.

We have compiled this information in the hope that it will be helpful to you.

Material

Advantages

Disadvantages

Conclusion

PET(both shiny and rough surface)

1. Composite material, one side coated with fluorine film, the other side of EVA, has good weather resistance, and EVA film has a good adhesion,which is better for producing,and cheaper;

2. Water vapor transmission rate 90%

4. Surface is not easy to get scratch.

5. Thickness 300?m, tensile strength greater than 150MPa 6.lifespan about 5years.

1. One side is a coated fluorine film, weatherability is worse than ETFE

2. Water vapor transmission rate is higher than ETFE,that means when in wet conditiona, the water will drop in panels, make solar panel lifespan shorter.

3. Transmittance is lower than ETFE,for the same panel, the power loss is higher. 4.Flame retardancy:UL94 HB(lowest standard)

1.From producing ways,PET is better for producing,as the adhesion is better; 2.PET costs lower; 3.ETFE is designed for outdoor climate,so it's much better for outdoor products from all sides.

Japan ETFE(both shiny and rough surface)

  1. Ethylene-tetrafluoroethylene copolymer, itself is fluorine film, with very good weather resistance, flame resistance.
  2. Water vapor transmission rate
