Who is Gautam Adani?
He is an Indian billionaire Industrialist.He is the chairman and founder of Adani Group which is an multinational conglomerate.His net worth is 136.6 billion dollars, he is the richest person in India and the 4th richest person in the world.
Early Life and Education
Gautam Shantilal Adani was born on 24th June 1962 in Ahmedabad(Gujrat). He has 7 siblings and his father was a small textile merchant. He did his schooling from Sheth Chimanlal Nagindas Vidyalaya which is in Ahmedabad. After completing his schooling he enrolled fro his bachelor of commerce degree at Gujrat University but dropped out in second year.
Career
At a early age he came to Mumbai in 1978 to work as a diamond sorter for Mahendra Brothers.
In 1981 his elder brother Mahasukhbhai Adani purchased a plastics unit in Ahmedabad and then invited gautam to manage the operations.
And in 1985 he started importing primary polymers for small size industries then in 1988 Adani established Adani Exports, now known as Adani enterprises.
In 1996 the strongest arm of Adani Group, Adani Power was established. Adani power holds thermal power plants which are the largest private thermal power producer of the country.
In september 2020, Adani acquired 74% stake in Mumbai International Airport which is the india’s second busiest airport after delhi.
In May 2022, Gautam Adani acquired Ambuja Cements and its subsidiary ACC from Holcim Group for 10.5 billion dollars.
In February 2022 he became Asia’s richest person surpassing Mukesh Ambani.And recently the biggest adani group news is he acquired 29.18% stake in NDTV, one of the biggest giant in news broadcasting.
Personal Life
He is married to Priti who is a dentist and leads Adani Foundation and they have two children namely Karan Adani and Jeet Adani.

- In 2015 the group was awarded by The Brand Trust Report for the India's most trusted infrastructure.
- Adani ports and SEZ recieved "India’s Container Port of the Year 2016" in Mumbai.
- In 2018 Adani Green Energy Limited entered into the global top 15 list of solar power developers by GTM Research the market analysis and consulting arm of Greentech Media.
- Adani Power’s Udupi power plant has been conferred with the power award by the Government of Karnataka.
