But the question is how do you choose the right LED Flashlight for what you need?

Unless you’re obsessed with flashlights like me, you’re probably not going to know which one to get.

Decide on the purpose of your flashlight

Will you need your flashlight for security and surveillance purposes? Wildlife monitoring? Or for general use of a high-powered light output in long distance. Do you need a small flashlight or a big one? Do you require a portable one or a headlamp?

What is your budget?

Decide on how much you’re willing to spend on a high quality top-end CREE LED flashlight $200? $400? $600?

What Lumens are you looking for?

Decide on how far you need to be able to see. The higher the lumens the further you can see.

Choose your batteries

CREE LED lights consume very little power when compared to incandescent flashlight bulbs. Meaning their battery power will far outlast an incandescent light. With this said there are three different kinds of batteries, alkaline batteries, Lithium-ion batteries and rechargeable batteries to choose. Li-Ion batteries give much longer time between recharges and can last a longer time in high-powered flashlights however if you’re deciding on a lower powdered flashlight, alkaline batteries will work just fine.

Choose your light Bulbs

CREE LED light bulbs are the newest technology of bulbs on the market today. These ultra high-powered LEDs are virtually unbreakable, as they do not blow out and essentially last a lifetime. CREE LED is better than ordinary LED, Xenon and incandescent flashlights however you do pay more for their exceptional quality.

Choose the body of your LED Flashlight

Plastic is lightweight and it’s cheaper than aluminium. However aluminium is more durable and high-grade aluminium is even better as it is water and dust proof.
